  2. 1 tablespoon vegetable oil (for frying)
  3. 1 large white onion (chopped)
  4. 2 sweet peppers - 1 red and 1 green (chopped)
  5. 1/2 cup celery (chopped)
  6. meat
  7. 2 pounds lean ground beef
  8. sauce
  9. 30 oz tomato sauce (sodium free/low sodium)
  10. 28 ounces tomato puree (no drain)
  11. 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  12. 3 tablespoons paprika powder
  13. 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  14. 2 teaspoons ground cumin
  15. 1 teaspoon Italian dressing
  16. 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  17. 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (or regular) (to taste)
  18. (to taste) salt
  19. (to taste) pepper
  20. 1 glass of water (if needed)
  21. muesli (optional)
  22. 32 ounces red beans (washed and drained)

Classic Chili Cooking Instructions

  1. Prepare the ingredients.
  2. Heat a soup pot or broiler. Once hot, heat the oil in the pre-set vegetable pan.
  3. Add vegetables and stir until soft. ~ 15 minutes
  4. If you need space, remove the vegetables from the pot. Fry the meat. ~ 15 minutes
  5. When the meat is browned, drain the juice and oil from the pan.
  6. Add sauce ingredients to meat and vegetables. Tip: Start by lightening the salt and pepper. You can add them later if you wish. Just add water if the consistency seems thicker than you prefer.
  7. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for at least 20 minutes. Stir from time to time.
  8. The flavor will develop over time, so if you have time, let it brew for another 30-120 minutes (or longer!)
  9. Taste regularly while cooking. Add salt, pepper and/or water as needed.
  10. If you love green beans, add them 10-20 minutes before eating. Cook over low heat until the beans are well warmed up. Otherwise, skip this step.
  11. Serve and enjoy your food!!!
