- 1.5 kg beef
- 1 cup oil
- 1 onion
- 1 whole garlic pod
- 20 gm ginger
- 3 tbsp red chilli powder
- 2 tbsp coriander powder
- 1/2 tsp turmeric
- 2 tbsp salt
- Grains
- 250 gm wheat daliya
- 250 gm whole wheat
- 250 gm chanay ki daal
- 125 gm barley
- 125 gm masoor ki daal
- 125 gm Moong ki daal
- 125 gm mash ki daal
- Spices
- 3 tbsp red chilli powder
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- Salt to taste
- Tempering
- 500 gm oil
- 250 gm onion
- Condiments
- Green chillies
- Fresh coriander
- Ginger julienne
- Lemon wedges
- Chaat masala
Steps to make to make Beef Daleem
- Wash beef thoroughly. Add oil in pot. fry one onion sliced to pink. Add beef, ginger, garlic and fry well till beef changes its colour. Add red chilli, coriander, turmeric Add 1 litre water and let it cook at medium flame till meat is done. Add salt in last and mix well
- Dry roast wheat dalia and soak it. Dry roast barley and whole wheat (gandum aur jau)
And soak it.wash and soak all lentils. - Add all lentils together in pot with water and let them cook till soft. Add barley,wheat and daliya together in pot with water and cook them till done.
- Now in a heavy bottom pot, combine cooked beef,lentils, wheat,barley,red chilli powder, salt,turmeric and water.let it cook at medium flame with continue stirring.(means ghotta lagaty rahain) or ypu can grind some of the mixture as well. Add salt according to your taste.
- Make tempering.heat 500 gm oil in pot.add sliced onions and fry to golden brown.
- Garnish with chopped fresh coriander, green chillies,ginger julienne,lemon wedges. Pour over bhagar sprinkle chaat masala.serve with naan and enjoy
